Kikongo Otter Sanctuary
The Kikongo Otter Sanctuary in the Democratic Republic of Congo has always been a close friend of the AON. Not only have they hand raised several Aonyx congicus and Hydrictis maculicollis cubs, but they also work steadily on local awareness. The photo above is from when they created a boys club to address slash & burn agriculture by planting trees – they provided 25 shovels, buckets, wheel barrows and supplies to spread the word to not hunt otters!
